best diagnostic tool?

hey all, i've got a drive I want to test and I want to know the best diagnostic tool for it,

its a samsung drive, and I tried the samsung diagnostics but for some reason they won't load, I burned it to a cd and boot and it just tells me - bad command name - when it tries to start.

anything else I can use?

is there a floppy version?? if your thinking of RMAing a drive its always a good idea to use the manufactures tool. for quick checks "HD tune" is good

yeah there is, i'll have to dig out my floppy drive and try it. I dont think theres anything really wrong with the drive, but I want to just try it out.

Samsung testing software The CD version will only work with drives connected by IDE not SATA

Been looking for a SATA HDD test diagnostic cd but it never exist

Best alternative ive found is the packard bell diagnostic cd (google it) does the job on ram and hdd testing fine for me but it is limiting and due to sata hdds its sometimes not picking up the drives
