Andy

I used to go to Bruno Brooks disco in the early 70's at the Kings Hall In Stoke and he was quite good because he played a lot of Northern Soul.
I also liked the rock DJ at The Highwayman on a thursday night in the late 70's.

in your opinion

this is a good comment on you tube that youl most likely not like :p

If you enjoy Prime Cuts scratching, you should check out the Helicopter landing strip near my house, you can kick back and bob your head all day long

i admire the technical parts of turntabalism etc

but its not really the sort of stuff i wanna go to a club and listen to though

Yeah, seen some good A-Trak vids recently. I like Q-Bert for scratching and Craze/Akakabe for juggles.

comparing those guys to Tiesto/Oakenfold is like comparing F1 drivers to people who are good at Scalectrix. ;)

Of course, I'd rather to listen to Tiesto/Halliwell etc in a club as that's the type of music I prefer to listen to when I'm out, it just takes very little skill to mix the tracks together the way they do.

Paul Van Dyk is my fave.. I've seen him quiet a few times now and he never dissapoints!

Also.. 2 Many DJs.. they are amazing.. the way they cut and weave tracks together on the fly is impressive to say the least.

Halliwell and Hardwick, the original Gatecrasher duo iirc.. both have their won styles but both are extremely talented. The way Halliwell gets into the music is tremendous interactivity with the crowd.

If I had to mention someone local to me (Newcastle upon Tyne area) then two spring to mind.

Dan Hawkins and Michael Lindsay.

They are techno Djs but dabble in other genres and sometimes play back to back around the north east.
Check them out.. brilliant lads and down to earth.

i didnt even realize D.I.M dj d , love his production though , pure noise :D

i was gunna mention 2manydjs but they bore me a bit now :( almost the same tracklists the 3 times ive seen em , they where the best at what they did for ages ( there welcome to radio soulwax part 2 cd is a part of history ! ) but i feel peple like mr alkan do it better now

going to see boys noize in a few weeks and looking at the you tube videos i have a feeling he will be getting added to this thread

Boys Noize is D.I.M and a guy I cannot remember for the life of me right now, without checking my itunes (at work atm). I can definately recommend them though, absolutely amazing!

D.I.M played at a club night here in Nottingham called 'Fresh out of Death'. The guys who run it are amazing DJs too, but not known names at all.

Oh, I'd have to add MSTRKRFT in here aswell.

didnt realize that

bought the d.i.m ep when it came out though , amazing , airbus baby is an absolute belter

really looking forward to seein boys noize next month , cant wait for his album either.

ill add tiga to the thread even if he is a raving homo and used to play trance , eurgh :p ;) his new collab tracks awesome IMO
