best dos programme help

ive lost my O/S and ive tried installing it again on the 3 partitions ive got on and it wont install keeps giving error,so is there a programme i can use to wipe all partitions of and format to ntfs,is there a programme that boots up from start as ive got no other way to format it cheers

Sounds a bit drastic, what is the error?

Are you sure your drive is OK? have you checked it for errors

how would i go about checking it for errors as i dont have a O/S on it now,and thanks for help,i will try it again and see what error it gives and let you no

Linux based boot CD. It contains a load of drive checkers to make sure you drive is ok, and you can use it to format your disks or partition them as NTFS.

Alternatively you can use this to partition your drive, it's a bit nicer looking. Again, it's Linux based but will work fine for Windows filesystems.

All you need is a CD and a CD writer; put the burnt CD in your drive, select to boot from it, and off you go
