I can't tell the difference between an hour pressure cook and a 6 hour slow cook, other than the time saving :D

Do things things cook rice? I have a Tefal multi cooker but use it mainly for rice, but want to get a machine that can also pressure cook.

Well you can pressure cook rice, but it is kinda pointless as it would take longer than normal rice cooking methods do to pressure build up time and release.

Pressure cooking really excels in speeding up certain types of cooking that normally takes hours.

Thanks but do these machines have any functions aside from pressure? Can it function as a normal rice cooker? If so I can get rid of my current multi/rice cooker and replace it with a Sage or Nutri machine.

thought I would provide an update.

this thing is amazing. it beats every other device i own in the kitchen and i own quite a few and it isn't even close.

1. Ninja Foodi Maxi
2. Phillips Air Fryer - the large model
3. G3 Ferrari - pizza oven (have an ooni 3 for outdoor use)
4. Vitamix
5. Kenwood stand mixer
6. Ninja - Nutri Auto IQ Blender

all the others are meh like - george foreman, sous vide, etc.

i've done a curry in it and soup so far. both were effortless and very quick. in fact i think even the time i had them in for even though short was too long. should have done the curry in pressure for 4 minutes instead of 5 and the soup at 5 minutes instead of 10.

when my kenwood chopper dies i'll be buying the ninja chopper which is around £25. the kenwood motor burns sometimes when put under pressure. so it's only a matter of time.

ninja products are very good for what they are. and the price i think is really good too. the vitamix for instance is brilliant but it's also dear compared to ninja's offerings. albeit it is slightly better.

i think i might sell my sous vide tbh. it's crap. takes too long and i can cook just as good chicken in the pressure cooker.

My slow cooker has cracked and I've been looking at replacing it with one of these multi-function pressure cookers instead with the time that can be saved. I can't decide which one though, I've looked at the Sage, PKP, Ninja and IP so far and haven't a clue what's best for my needs.

I'll mainly be using it to cook big chunks of meat and curries.
