I'm about to register for Part P with the NICEIC, will be doing an EAL VRQ level 2 to show i'm competent.

I have previously done C&G 2330 and 2382 17th Edition and will go on to do the 2391 (although I know the pass rate is incredibly low)

I was wondering as an investment what is the best test equipment to get my grubby little hands on?

Looked at a Megger MFT 1500 Series Multi-Function Tester (~£980)

or Megger PPK 200 Series Part P Test Kit (~£880)

Not entirely sure which is better, or if there are others that are easier to use etc. etc.

Have experience of Continuity, Ins. Resistance, Polarity, and earth fault loop tests Zs, but not Ze.... although know all the theory and equations needed.

Thanks!

Meggers are always the best ones to go for mate. Imo you pay for what you get. We use metral stuff at work and tbh they are ****. Ze is pretty much just your Zs but at the point of supply. Ze + R1,R2 = Zs :)

Fluke are one of the better manufacturers.

AVO & ISO Tech are some of the other makes to look out for.

You will also need a Volt stick - comes in handy for a quick fault finding.
Amp Clamp
3 phase and single phase tester - Not 100% needed, but can come i handy.

Yeah, Volt stick and a continuity tester will be used the most for quick fault finding.
