Hello everyone. I'm doing a clean up of my system and would like to move iTunes onto an external drive but not sure what is suitable for use with my iMac. How reliable is thunderbolt ? does it now still overheat ? i had issues a few yrs ago with an external ssd which failed after a week, the controller got too hot!
Would I be better off using usb3 instead ?
I would like to have my iTunes running as a server for my family to have access to since most people either have Apple TV or an iPad.
I have a couple of Inateck caddies which have really fast controllers on them, one of which has a Samsung 840 standard 250gb reaching write speeds of 260 and read speeds of 410.
My iTunes library is always getting bigger though, that's family for you!
Are the WD My book range any good ? I've seen that there is a new one soon.
Any feedback is always appreciated!
