Salutations.

I have the spec in my sig. I have purchased 4 Sharkoon 2000 SE 120mm fans (golfball ones) and am looking at Fan controllers.

What is the best fan controller? Any links to decent reviews would be good as I cannot find any. Also the information given on sites doesn't cover what I want to know.

I would like to control 4 fans from and be able to change them from 12V to 5V as I see fit. An LCD panel would be nice, as would a black bezel.

I am relying on your views entirely as I know dick about fan controllers.

Cheers all.

Thanks Dave.

I have had a look at what you suggested but am confused by the product. How does it control fans? Software? Sorry to be so nooby.

Also it doesn't look like it will fit in a 5.25 bay, I take it goes internally?

Just to reiterate what I am after:

1: Fan controller for 4 fans.
2: Ability to change voltage between 5V-12V(11V as most seem to spec)
3: Fits 5.25 inch bay.
4: LCD display panel would be best, but if the best controller doesn't have one then meh!
5: Black front bezel.

Hope that helps you help me!

I have been looking at the Scythe Kama... Any good?

2 suggestions for you, which meet all except 4:

Sunbeam Rhoebus. It comes with the added advantage of 0V to 12V, ie you can switch your fans off! The decals are a little bit garish, and the lights are too bright, but both can be modded. I am very happy with mine. Only one supplier in the UK to my knowledge - takes a bit of finding on the web. This thread will give you lots of info:

Then there is this new Zalman:

I haven't used one, but the spec looks good - 6 fans. Brushed Aluminium :). Looks very sweet, no averse reviews so far.

@Kirth Excellent thread there matey, full of all the information I wanted and more. If only it had shown up in my search I wouldn't have needed to make this thread lol.

The sunbeam looks smart and if I din't have a very inquisitive 7 yr old it would be what I would go for as I don't like the idea of switching the fans off. The Zalman looks like it may be the winner. No LCD panel I know but after seeing your rig I have gone off them lol. Added bonus is it has 6 fan controllers which means I can add more fans woohoo!

Thanks for taking the time and effort to reply all; you will be glad to know that today gentlemen you have made a difference.

It's an internal unit and everything is fully controlled by very comprehensive software. Nothing for little fingers to get to and it will control fans by voltage or PWM fully off if required. More info here:
