best file format to preserve AV

yea, saving up for an i7 930.... (faster processor means a whole system revamp

) ..

wonder how much difference that would make to encoding times...!

Yep, just try dragging the position slider on an MKV ripped with MakeMKV, it crashes every time. It's better if the video is h264 but with MPEG2 it falls over.
