Best free forum software?

One that isn't heavyweight (ie. slow loading and cluttered interface)
Has a WYSIWYG editor for posts
Not overly complicated to skin

Any suggestions?

I was using SMF 1.1.8 but recently upgraded to 2 and I just don't know if I prefer it to phpbb which I have used in the past :S

You could try this: http://www.freephpbb3.com/home.php - just to have a look at least as its easy to get one running and hosted for free

I installed PHPBB a few months ago and it doesn't seem to have a WYSIWG editor :confused:

I like it more than SMF though. Which WYSIWG mod should I get?

Vanilla is lightweight and really slick.

Doesn't come with a WYSIWYG editor but has plenty of ADD-ONS for the job!
