best free software for making an imagie of my computer

had loads of trouble doing a clean install with vista, and at the mo i have xp all set up and working, i need an imagie so i can frig about with vista, but have something simple to revert back to instead of having to do all the updates and setup everything.

what would your recomend, needs to be simple

You could try: http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm

Another good thing is that this can also be integrated into a copy of BartPE. I can get the guide if you wish.

ok thanks, so i would make the imagie using this proggy then add it to a bart boot disc?
