Is there a noticeable gap between the 6800 and the 6800XT
yes
the 6800xt is 10-15% faster than the 6800
the 7800xt is ~5% faster than the 6800xt if you wish to buy new, but i appreciate that'll be stretching your budget

Wow thanks again for this detail. I think the 6800XT seems closely priced and you get a lot more if that make sense

I got a 6800 on MM recently for a friend.
I tested it out in my system and found that it wasn't all that far behind my 3080, while consuming less power.
RT is another story of course, at least with Minecraft which was the only game I tested it with RT.
If I needed another card now for cheap I'd likely get a 6800 or hope I could find another 3080.
New I'd probably look at the 7800 for £499 but then I'd still not bother as it's barely any different to the 6800 and is sometimes slower.

Update guys. My Nitro+ 6800 arrived today! I cant thank you all enough for the advice, The Card is whisper quiet and the performance is amazing!

6800 was always a good card, they were a bit like gold dust during the pandemic and it was easier to get the 6800XT instead. Either are solid solid cards that have some legs in them.
I'm a bit late but the 3070 is what I call a dead end card. Only 8gb ram makes it worthless imo. The 6800 you bought is a far better card and you have 16gb vram. Enjoy!
