Would an AMD Athlon X4 860k handle the new R7 370? If not, what would I be better off with? I've listed my PC specs below.

AMD Athlon X4 860K Black Edition @ 3.7GHz
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Gigabyte F2A88X-D3H
Corsair Vengeance 12GB @ 1600MHz
MSI Radeon R7 260X 2GB OC Edition
500GB Seagate Pipeline
Cooler Master GM 650w

Don't get the 370 it sucks and from memory it is slower that the 260x. But to answer the question your cpu will easily handle it.

Your cpu should be good enough for anything upto a 290x/390x to be honest. Only on games that are heavily cpu intensive will you notice any real difference.

What is your budget and what resolution? (I would probably be looking at a 290/290x/390 if I was upgrading from the 260x to make it worthwhile. On the nvidia side look at a 970 or a cheap 780.

Edit : just noticed that link is a thread you already made in February.

It's faster than a 260X. The 370 is a rebranded 7850, which was the R7 265 in the old product stack (both the R9 270 and R9 270X were 7870 rebrands). The 260X is a rebranded 7790.

Thanks for the assist, I was going from memory. It's still a card that is pointless upgrading to from a 260X though.

OP> I run an R9 380 4GB with my 7850K which I believe is pretty much the same chip as your 860k but with a iGPU. I have no issues running games, even CPU intensive one's with it to be honest. I'm currently clocked at 4.4ghz with it and all my games like Tomb Raider/Shadow of Mordor/Planetside 2 (cpu intensive)/Grid Autosport/Battlefield 4 run really well with it. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to get a 390 personally.
