best graphics card for CS;S

i had a virus lool

even still, the Q6600 isn't a brilliant chip for CSS. I had an 8400 at 4GHz which ran CSS fantastically, then sold that for a Q6700 which I overclocked to 3.6GHz as I thought there wouldn't be that much of a performance hit.. there was.

Then went over to i5 and again it's back to 8400 performance.

Unsurprisingly I find the q6600 better than my old AMD 4400 dual, but I will look forward to trying css out on my next cpu. I expect the i5's and 7's do run it beautifully smooth.

GPU barely matters in CSS, it basically relies on your CPU i went from a 4670 to a 5750 and notice no difference.

i cap my fps at 100 and it never goes below it unless the server is dire and my tickrate drops.

also the source video stress test means naff all and people shouldnt go by it for anything.

Yes, the point about the source video is a fair one. Try out a few servers and one will probably find every server has a different 'feel' about it.
