just wondering if anyone knows of any games that have stunning graphics that i can get for free (even if its just the demo)

i currently have crysis maximum edition (although just playing the demo because i have no DVD drive to install it with) and a not working demo of colin mcrae dirt 2 on steam (when i click play, it just goes to the buy game screen)

also tried GTR2, but that really needs a steering wheel, which i havent got (just got xbox controller)

im really not fussed about genre, but a driving game would be nice

thanks for any suggestions, and sorry if this has been brought up a thousand times before

If your showing off what a PC can do to friends etc then use the free AMD(ATI) or Nvidia demos depending on what your graphics card make is as those are designed to do exactly that. As far as game demos go, I'm not too sure to be fair.

free Nvidia stuff was poo :( was just some rocket sled going through utah, or similar looking scenery. went too fast to see the scenery, and the scenery itself was incredibly boring

crysis demo was way nicer

it's to show the tessalation etc is it not or was it physX lol

Wasn't there a Cryostasis tech demo a while back? Strangely, my ATi 5770 played that game better than my GTX 570 on highest settings... it seems to hate my computer these days

obviously there is a metro 2033 demo and crysis demo etc.

LOTRO is free and looks stunning too.

tonnes of demos tbh.

I've just started playing Cryostasis, there was the fps issues with my GTX580 but there's a few things that can fix it which i've tried and seems better now.(turning HD audio off, setting the resolution in the Cryostasis folder config file to same as your desktop resolution and also on GTX 570 it probably has PhysX enabled which hinders fps a lot but a Steam update in March or so apparently makes it run better now.)

^^Another here that is playing through Cryostasis. Quite a good game imo, maxed out on a o/c 480 with no problems, though yeah, it does make the PC work a bit. One of literally a handful (if that) of games that just didn't cut it with a previous card, so saved it for a rainy day.

Bulletstorm demo is quite nice looking.

You could try Need for Speed World if it's a driving game you are after it's free to play with a shop of some sort.

just want to say thanks for recommending the hunter. gameplay is good enough for me to not quit out in two minutes, and the graphics are breathtakingly good... just a shame im useless at it
