I want to jump on board the good ship Mac. I have my eye on the 13" MBP, but many sites such as macrumours are saying don't buy as a new model is imminent.

However, Apple being Apple, I can't find a release date.

So, does anyone know when roughly the new MBP will be announced - at an upcoming conference or whatever?

Any help appreciated, I have no immediate needs for the laptop so am happy to wait a few months anyway.

No. Nobody at present know outside of apple. It'll likely be a silent upgrade without an event and it'll likely be a tuesday as that's apple's favourite day usually. That aside nobody has a clue. In theory it should be soon but it's impossible to say as nobody knows which chips / graphics options Apple will be using (there is the continuing rumour they have asked intel for a mobile i5 variant without the integrated graphics).

If you need one, buy it now, they're good machines and you'll just be waiting for the next big upgrade forever more otherwise.

Definitely wait.

The current MBP lineup is horrendously overpriced for what you get. The 13" not so much but the 15" certainly is. The new models won't just be a simple CPU/RAM update but moving to the Core i3/i5/i7 and much, much better graphics.

There's no guarantee of that, the 13" could yet end up with the intel integrated graphics which are at best on par with the current

I can't tell you when they're going to be changed, I can tell you however that the 13" Model will not be changed internally or otherwise, the 15 and 17" models are going to receive internal performance boosts, with the possibility of i5 CPU's becoming standard in those models.

You're safe to buy a 13" Model. If you're after a 15" or 17" model, then waiting a few weeks might be worth your while.

Our friends at mac rumours have got info and pics on current 13" and 15" models being removed from tbest buys inventory. As you expect they are saying nothing though the last time this was discovered two days later, new MacBooks were released.:)

This is my theory too. Is this info just an opinion or based on information you have?

Im gonna order tonight - do they price change them too? Also I hope they do the Macbooks as I have to get my sis one (can you buy more than 1 laptop via HE site at one time?)

ps3ud0
