Best HD for a MBP

What type do you want? Fully portable USB powered or a larger capacity one with an external power supply?

What interfaces does the MacBook have? I assume there's USB and Firewire but do you have eSATA at all?

I would much prefer a HD that does not require external power supply if possible..

I dont think the MBP have eSATA port do they but I know it got USB 2 and Firewire thou

DIY gives you the ability to pick exactly the disk and caddy you want plus you get a far longer warranty with a bare drive.

Agree with rpstewart, BYOD (Bring Your Own Drive/Disk) enclosures are better because longer warranty & choice of HD is yours. Also, upgradable without invalidating warranty.

Icy Box are a good brand. Have a 3.5" enclosure which has been serving me well for now almost 2-years :)
