ive bin out of computer games and computer hardware for a few years now ,but at the time it was the wd raptor? is that the case now or is it there new one velociraptor?
do they do a solid state one thats good for gaming?

cheers for any help;)

If money is no object and speed is the name of the game they you gotta get an SSD.
Either the new G2 Intels or the OCZ Vertex's.

For games it really doesn't matter. Best case for SSD vs. a slow HDD you get a few seconds on load times.

More & more games are streaming data from the drive as you move around the game. This is especially true if you play MMOG's. Try moving around Vanguard/AoC or even Dalaran in WoW with a relatively low performance drive and watch your PC get knee-capped :(

I using VelociRaptor for gaming, although its 10K rpm is same as its old brother but but Veloci is faster than raptor X.

Use it makes me possible to run far cry 2 and battle realm at the same time.

I disagree, my ARMA 2 pauses and stutters and the HDD's are going crazy!

Think you've got a VRAM problem there.

You're right, some MMORPG's do benefit a bit. I don't play any so I often forget that.
