Hi All,
Sorry if this has been asked many times before, but I couldn't find what I was looking for using the search.
Ok, i've just brought some new parts and wondered what you guys would consider to be the best way to set the HDD's up as I can't decide lol.
I've got 2 HDD's - 1 x 320GB SATA-II Seagate and 1 x 40GB IDE Seagate.
I want to dual boot Win XP Pro and Vista. Would it be best to put the 2 OS's on the IDE and use the SATA drive for applications/games and general data?
Or would it be better to split the SATA drive and install the OS's on 2 different partitions and just use the IDE drive for music/docs and maybe the Page File?
If splitting the SATA drive and using that for the OS's would you split it in 3 and use 1 partition for the data?
And 1 final question - If I were to use 1 partition for the data, and I wanted to install the same application both in XP and in Vista, is it possible to install it to the same folder in both OS's? or more to the point, would it work? (the installer would presumably overwrite the files in the dir with the same ones and write the registry entries in each OS).
Thanks for taking time to read this long post.
