Best headphones for under £80?

I doubt I will get the NAD Viso in time as I'm not buying a headphone this week or next week, so I will discount that. At the moment interested in the comparison between the DT770 and ATH-M50s. Also I'm interested in close headphones as they don't really leak sound.

There's 3 left. They are pretty front and centre. Go on E bay dot co dot uk. Type in NAD Viso HP50. I love the DT770 but don't get them over the HP50. The M50 isn't even in the same league.

Currently I'm rocking M50's and they sound amazing on everything I do, with what your saying I'd hear improvements if I got some HP50s or DT770?

The NAD HP50 is a big step up. It's better tuned, deep bass with beautiful mids and a nice smooth treble. The DT770 in comparison is a bit of a mess but I really like it.

The NAD is probably my fav closed headphone of all time along with the SRH1540.

The DT770 is great. It's a bit withdrawn in the mids bit the mids have a nice pleasing tone. It's slightly bright up top depending on your amp but they are overall warm and enjoyable. The soundstage is very good.

I found the M50 rubbish for anything other than portable, efficient use. It's mids sounded sucked out and it didn't have hardly any breathing room or depth.

The 770 is better in every area. I'd still hang out for those HP50 though! It's a crazy deal with a two yr warranty. If the nads are a no go then the DT770 is a great choice.

ATH-M50 are fantastic for a pick up and go kit. If you're looking for real soundstage and depth then you want to look at the more expensive open back phones. M50s are great for punchy bass tracks and movies.

Been looking into both the HP50's and the DT770, the DT770 on looks appear to be the comfier of the two (I have quite a large head) .

Will I need to add the cost of a sound card into them to power either of these ok?

I currently use my onboard sound on a Maximus VI formula that's supposed to be 'decent' and powers my AT fine.

I always found the DT's to be extremely comfortable and the ear cups are roomier than the HP50's so should be kinder on your ears.

DT770 are quite good (bit sibilant), used HD650 are good, logitech UE6000 used for about £30-40 are also good for the money. Shure 840 are quite good as well. There's some to look at.

Thinking about it, I use my Note 2 as an mp3 a lot. I am planning to use my stock earphones, not the DT-770 80 ohm, but if I could use the DT-770 with my note 2 it would be awesome as well. So anyone know whether its feasible?

Ok, so if you want to use them mobile wouldn't you be better off with the 32 ohm version as they are designed for it? They have a shorter lead and the low impedance would guarantee they would work with a phone.
