Best high end gaming Chip ?

5820k 6 cores 12 threads overclocks to 4.4 easily enough best bang for buck.

Why?
what game use's 6 cores and 12 threads?

skylake is the fastest core on the market.
DX12 will open up more cores for use, most game right now use 2. DX12 will push to 4?

By the same argument, DX12 will "push to 6" making the hex a better choice.

In truth there's probably not much in it.

Skylake: slightly higher performance per clock, cheaper.
Haswell-E: 6 cores, more PCIe lanes.

With £2k already in on GPUs and monitors, it seems silly to save ~£150 by choosing Skylake.

even if a normal i7 6700k is a bit quicker in some games than a 5820k the difference is like £50. the fps difference isnt much but once you start oc the 5820k in other stuff it destroys it.

editing and other working things.

also more future proof.

games wont do much anything else for next few years. as they mainly cater for consoles anyway.

i think in next few months the i7 6700k will drop down from the silly price its at now to more reasonable side. then it will be easier to see what to buy. its the main reason people are holding off. pricing is so stupid at the moment.

if you already own an i7 the only real upgrade path is 5820k or one of the other X99 chips. Skylake is a bit redundant really.
