Following on from my fabulously successful de-icing thread, can anyone recommend a good internal sponge? Mine are terrible and the only thing I can do for the steam is wait till the heaters are hot enough to get rid of it, but I wanna get going quicker.

I also have actual frost on the inside. Is that normal?

No, either moisture from your feet is soaking into the carpets, you have a leak, clogged pollen filter or you have a heater matrix problem

All I use to clean my windows inside is kitchen roll and a tiny little bit of fairy liquid. I can quite honestly say I've done it maybe twice this year and my windows are absolutely fine and relatively mist free

dont no about sponged i just use a normal micro fiber one to wipe and one to buf the marks off if i have to . but if your steaming up have you looked in to the cause if any ?.if not stick a tub of kitty litter in the car to suck up the :)

I use an Autoglym Microfiber thing, works great and can also be used with their Fast Glass product to clean the window should you need too.

Not that I need to do it often though, it's normaly used for the wing mirrors when they are soaked or dirty.

In Germany, where bringing snow on your shoes into the car is a common cause of damp and condensation inside the car they sell UK sourced single-use barbecues as dehumidifiers. Peel the lid back a little then slide it under the front seat and your condensation problems are basically history. Strange, but it works exceptionally well.

If you wipe the screen dry with a sponge or cloth that you then keep in the car, the moisture hasn't gone anywhere and will be back the next time. Better off getting some dehumidifiers as already linked, and checking / replacing your pollen filter.

If you use hot tap water to defrost the outside, it will melt the inside that can then be wiped with a couple of pieces of kitchen towel.

I recommend Regina Blitz for it's long life and 1 sheet is usually enough :)

good tip but should say warm tap water as it could crack the glass if to hot.
