What do you guys use other than iTunes for your iPod music organisation?

Looking to try something new, I'm not a big fan of iTunes...

Song bird works for putting music on, but tbh I don't think it's very good, worse than itunes I think.

I have just reinstalled my system, after a year of the old install, I felt it needed a little clean.

I have always used WinAmp as my music player, however, I have also found this a little "bloated" - even in classic mode, and the iPod support was abismal.

I now use SharePod to update my iPod with music, which works flawlessly. For my music player, I am now using MediaMonkey which I am very impressed with. The simplicity, yet "intelligent" design makes it incredibly easy to use and manage your music.

I use a plugin for foobar2000. It's all of 1.5MB.

However, that's only because I have a 5.5G iPod: if you have a modern one it requires you to have iTunes installed, which partly defies the point of avoiding that bloat****.

Also if you don't use foobar2000 you probably won't want it. :p

I've got an 8GB 5th Generation Nano, and you need iTunes to setup the iPod - latest firmware, registration etc, enable disk mode, and use SharePod - perfect :)

I looked at foobar2000 when I was looking to replace WinAmp and didn't like it as the interface was a bit too simple. MediaMonkey fitted the bill perfectly, with a small footprint.

+1 Zune Software

I just DL'ed it because of what Abooie said. So far I'm very impressed, especially with the ease at which it organises your music. Looks slick too, goes well with windows 7
