I have 2 event active studio monitors connected directly to my soundcard. at the moment I use the control panel to alter the volume. However I was wondering is there a keyboard that can be configured to control the volume in either 'wave out' or 'main volume' on the audio mixer in windows control panel? Most of the keyboards I've used with volume controls on them only control the volume on media players.

I have a MS media pro at home and a Logitech internet keyboard at work. Both control the main volume on the PCs.

It's an old Logitech. I brought it into work to replace the fishy rubbish that work supplied.

I shouldn't mention that it was me who built the office PCs.

Logitch G15 for the win.

Absolutly lovely.

I drag the keyboard by my bed, so on a night when I am going to sleep I can leave my pc on but change music with all the controls and view it all on the lcd screen :D

Must be using a bit in power.

Using a E6420 @3.7ghz and a GTX to listen to music lol. Cant be that much. And my parents pay the electricity

Controls the main volume (has mute to), lovely keyboard, and ignore the curve, it's nothing like a proper ergo, you won't notice it....

or

or you can get free apps to control sound via your existing keyboard.

Thanks for replys. I am tempted by the logitech G15 but £56 is a bit steep for keyboard. As for the microsoft comfort 2000, it looks nice and is priced right, but once got used to layout like that it may make it difficult to use normal keyboard again.

I use an Ergo keyboard at home, and a standard rubbish keyboard at work, doesnt cause any problems for me.

As said though, the comfort curve isnt a fully ergonomic keyboard, you practically won't notice the curve.... it's like something in the middle of a regular keyboard and an ergo.

Though you could always buy one for work if you use a keyboard in work, i'm sure the boss won't object to simply swapping the keyboard, i'm thinking about taking my spare comfort curve into work, best check with the boss first though... :D

Don't take my word for it though, it's your comfort and money to do with as you choose... ;)

The £56 (it was 45 when I brought it from oc???) is well worth it. The LCD screen is a god send and looks really swanky.

However I have not utilised the Macros yet (fully anyway) :o .

Will spend some time gettign them set up..........soon anyway

I have the mx3000 keyboard settup, wireless and cost me £30 deliverred from a popular auction webbie. It is US qwerty setup, but there is effectively no change if you set it to english keys, as I really don't look at the keyboard anyway. It has a nice big wheel at the top, along with many other useful media keys, such as a "my documents", "Media player" opening ones and foward/back and email/msn etc programable buttons. Had it only a few days and really getting used to a wireless setup. Been on an mx510 and a "keysonic multimedia ultraslim" keyboard that kept losing power and randomly reconecting even though its usb wired. I am thourroughly impressed with it.
