Best kitchen?

we went to ikea. The build quality is good and everyone loves it. Ands its comparatively cheap compared to other shops. Also you can go pick it all up yourself if you want, all the draws are fully extending and their corner units and deep drawer stuff work really well. After helping me with ours, my father-in-law bought their new kitchen from there too.

Some pics before it was all completely finished

Lots of kitchens that are sold by the likes of B&Q, Wicks etc are manufactured by these lot.

Go direct if you can and save some cash and get your own fitters.

B&Q and Wickes don't use Howdens - I think the only big one is Magnet now that MFI have gone under?

Howdens were much more expensive than B&Q (Cooke and Lewis) when I fitted our cream kitchen/oak worktops last year. They were about £1000 more for a fairly small kitchen!

Good thing about Howdens is that the units come ready assembled... thats a BIG help. Probably worth £500 alone.
Shame i didnt realise till it was too late. But in saying that i would have probably had to pull most of them apart to custom build them to get them to fit.

Miele fitted kitchens are very solid and last forever, as do the appliances.

Ours is 20 years old this year and only the dishwasher and oven have been replaced, and that was last year.
All the units are in perfect condition and nothing has broken.

As for IKEA, well..

That didn't actually bother me, it meant the new kitchen took up less space in the garage and it takes what, 10 minutes to assemble a carcass? I used glue with mine as well so I know it's extra solid.
