That look good do u think it will paly doom 3 and so on ?

X1600 or Go 7600 will both play Doom3 fine :) Play BF2142 medium detail @ 1024x768. They're good with the latest games, although you may have to lower the detail.

The Macbook Pro is the exception, the X1600 is clocked so low its the equivelant of an X1400.

You could get a MacBook, Install Windows XP (Bootcamp) and play Counterstrike, Day of Defeat etc, which many consider are excellent games.

Nearly forgot, you will also have the sexiest laptop known to man with the best OS (OSX).

And some of the worst hardware... This person is asking for a laptop £700-800 that can play modern games, the £750 macbook can barely play pong.

The MacBook is within his price range and while it can't play BF2 it can play HL2 and the games i've already mentioned.

Are you saying the MacBook is using "some of the worst hardware"

Fair enough, but i doubt the hardware Apple use is worse than that of generic laptop makers. I supose i'm so over the moon with mine i can't stop recomending them :p

One other thing i will say, You may think you will be using your laptop for games but in the main most people don't and revert back to there main rig for games (I know you will be away from home, but still) You will see allot of posters advising buying a cheap laptop and using your main rig for gaming. You see the other problem with gaming especialy with games like BF2 is they zap your battery!

Good luck :)

so what games have you tried to play on your laptop ??

Well tbh they haven't been that graphics intensive, it's mostly been dow and worms 4 ,oblivion played fine at low settings at native res, though that game doesn't really play fantastically well on any pc. I did try out doom3 and it plays fine at high settings, native res.
