Best Laptop

I'm in a similar position myself, and the zepto is the only one I can find with 14" screen, and a decent graphics card.

There are a few more in the 15" range, but for the money the zepto looks the best buy.

the one for £650 inc vat is a Toshiba Satellite Pro P100 Laptop

only thing i have little doubt about is the 17" screen. Is the 7600 Go powerful enough to run games at native res of 1440 x 900. That and the HDD is a little slower.

Zepto looks very good but they dont add in cost of operating system (£100 in vat ish) and display the prices for cheapest setups so when i end up customizing the laptop to what i want i.e. a 60 gig 7200 drive instead of the 40 gig 5400 drive, changing the 256mb memory to 1 gig memory, changing from a celeron to a Core duo 1.6 or 1.8 and adding in XP pro it works out around £914 inc vat all in oh well lol.

do you think it would be ok to play fear on it or Call of Juarez or El Matador or Prey ??

Can play prey easily it's using the doom 3 engine, can play fear, not sure at what settings, I haven't tried it because I almost died from boredom playing it the first time. ;)

a friend of mine has a zepto but i am not sure which model but i know it cost around £700. i have to say it is fantastic. if i was looking for a laptop i would buy a zepto. i know doom3 plays well on high settings.

The Macbooks will burn through your leg if you use it for more than a couple of minutes on your lap :p

Onboard graphics will not play HL2 @ 800x600 low detail at an acceptable FPS. Never, ever, use onboard graphics if you will be playing games.

Lets have less talk about the macbook we all know they are the worst thing ever made inside but are one of the best looking on the outside. so lets not talk about them in this post :)

this is a NO MACBOOK ZONE :)

I asked my boss about Zepto and he has never heard of them he said the probobly not good for the money but he used other words to that affect but i dont know if its going to be worth having a laptop that no one has heard of and what sort of suport do you get from them ? lets hope there not the next AADVENT laptops.

They're UK operation is based in Nottingham, I've sent them a couple of emails over the past few weeks and they've always responded within a couple of hours, even on a Sunday night!

Also, they operate out of several coutries and are definately growing in stature.

I don't see how he can come to the conclusion that it's not good for the money, considering its better spec'd than other models for less money, mostly.

Although, I do appreciate some scepticism for a make you haven't heard of.

don't listen to your boss just because he aint heard of zepto. this company is on the up, in 12 months time maybe everone will have heard about zepto. they have excellent specs, good service and a price that is probably unbeatable. type zepto into google and look at some reviews.
