Best LED torch

With money no object (within reason) what is the best LED flashlight? Ideally weighing no more than 1kg but needs to be really powerful, like car headlight powerful and with the ability to focus the beam or have a wide beam...

I don't think the maglites are really good enough.

It's not for dogging actually, it's for use on a boat. Was going up beaulieu river last night and the halogen light was useless and then it ran out of battery.

There was that handheld flashlight post on here a while back. Stupidly powerful and stupidly expensive. like £20,000

I swear that someone wrote 'is it for dogging?'...... so I replied... I don't think I'm seeing things, I know I only got a couple of hours sleep but still!

You can get HID torches, but they are ~£250+

There was a thread a while back http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17776337&highlight=torch but don't think they will throw enough light for you. May be worth having a look at a torch modding web forum (they are out there somewhere) as they do kit's/designs to modify maglites to LED/Cree LED.
