I'm looking for somewhere that will allow me to pay for a track, and then download it as a >=192Kbps MP3 file.... I don't want any WMAs or copy-crippled rubbish. (I assume MSN Music serves WMAs?)

Just want simple, legal, good quality MP3 files.....

Any recommendations? :)

As far as I'm aware there is only one site that will sell you files without DRM - and its legality is questionnable - I think its legal, as do a lot of legal sources, AFAIK the mods here dont think it is.

iTunes is FairPlay protected AAC.

You won't find any "popular" music store that sells music without DRM - although there are some legal indie stores about that will sell in MP3 :)

The store you mention above is operating legally, but for you in the UK to download from there is illegal.

Wrong, so many respected people have come out and said that its 'not illegal' - I don't know why people still think/say this.

If it wasn't dubious legally then why would respected people need to comment at all?

It isn't allowed here simply because it is of dubious legality.

I'm not entertaining the idea of another of these threads either. I don't want it mentioning again please.
