Best Made Game?

best made? any Team 17 game was always quality and well put together.

hrmm my memory is probably buggered (senile aye!) but do you old ones remember patches for Amiga/ST and c64 games? If not did it bother you?

i'm gonna say chronicles of riddick EFBB. Dont remember reading about many problems if any and i think there was only ever 1 patch wasnt there? also had pretty damn good visuals (possibly nearing HL2 level) and good gameplay (imo :)) only downfall would be how short it it

Day of defeat :)

I like games to feel real and CS:S just doesnt do that for me, there is just too much BS happings going on it it like jumping and shooting at the same time :(

Gotta throw Guild Wars in here - it's the only game I've not had CTD's/BSOD's or any driver issues. To me that implies a well written game.

I would say Half Life 2, however Nintendo make the most polished games. Mario 64 for example is pretty much flawless.

All these people saying HL2 - are you forgetting how plagued it was with engine inefficiencies when it was released? Sure, it scales fantastically - but a HUGE amount of people suffered the dreaded Stutter bug, which ruined the experience for many!

To say it's the best made game isn't very fair, as it took a lot of updates to get it as polished as it is now.

What he said. Half Life 2 doesn't deserve a single vote in this thread.

I'd have to say GTA San Andreas was very well made, admitedly it's a console port at heart but a very nicely done one. And to have very few, if any bugs in a game of that scale, is very impressive.

Must been a hella' lot of testing.

Live for Speed.

Quick to load
Quick to setup
Quick to find a game
Never had a recurring crash/problem/fault that marred my enjoyment
Would quite happily play it in its current Alpha state for the rest of time. Maybe.

And also Unreal Tournament games. Never had as much grief with them as have with CS and the others.
