Best media player for Android?

Been a while since I used Android but picked up a Sammy tab in the members market and was wondering what to use.

MX Player used to be my go to. Is that still the best for video playback?

The built in Samsung media play is pretty good to be fair.

Haven't had any issues with VLC.

MX Player was bought by India's Times Internet back in 2018, the free version has extra bloat, but the Pro version remains clean last time I checked.

Bought MX Player Pro in the end which was less than a fiver.

Haven’t used Android in years as I have an iPhone so the last 48 hours have been a learning curve

Was tempted to go for an iPad but I like the flexibility of Android for media consumption.

App permissions haven’t changed much mind! We need access to EVERYTHING ok lol

Probably could have just used VLC but I hate that bloody traffic cone icon thing lol

I uninstalled it on my Windows machine years back for the traffic cone icon

every media file had road works going on.

Well, if you're desperate, there is Wine for Android which will allow you to run Windows apps... although not very well.

I always used what was default on my old HTC U11 but when I downloaded audio books I tried VLC and it worked fine. I didn't try anything else though, but I'll give MX Player a look.
