Best Mesh System?

I had a whole section wrote out but pressed back on my phone. :( so really wrote with less details.

I play(ed) online poker with friends and the tp link was freeze at the worst time causing me to lose hands which doesn't happen any more.

The signal is reliable and I've never had any drop outs with the new kit. The speed is also much better for downloading and I can now use the mesh system instead of the powerline adapters for my PC upstairs.

For the Sonos speakers, the tp link system was fine but for anything that requires a good solid connection, it would struggle sometimes. I just don't have any issues with the new kit at all.
Which TP-Link system are you referring to? The ER605 is enterprise grade and has been rock solid in the three years I've been using it. The Deco BE25 is a consumer grade device, connected in bridge mode to the ER605 it makes for a rather nice system.

A much cheaper one which was three of the S4 devices.

It worked alright for browsing but on teams calls for work it would go into low bandwidth mode randomly and playing poker it would pause the hand etc.

This could be interference from other devices etc but either way it's not happening any more.

The saying you get what you pay for is true though and the Asus ones are much more expensive but work well.

You've made me reconsider mine, which is 5yrs old. We had moved the furniture around for xmas and my base mesh unit ended up behind the TV.
Didn't realise until now it cut off most of the signal. Moved it around today and restored the signal.
I did a cull of old devices and updated the firmware before xmas.

But it makes me think I'd like a Mesh with more ethernet ports.
I had the powerline devices bypassed direct to the modem. But recently put it through the mesh but the base unit only has one extra port.
We've a few times where some devices have been unable to join. Kicking a few devices off allowed others to join.
Perhaps a newer one would be able to handled blocking VPN's and anonymous android devices a bit better.

Its a pain replacing it. Adding the Car Charger a Zappi to it was utter pain.
