best method for swapping memory card in an android phone

I have a white xperia play(from o2 for £150 payg), have had it since mid january just days before the 5 free ea games offer finished.

until recently I've been using the supplied 8gb class 2 memory card, had been trying to decide if I should get a 32gb memory card or use the 16gb class 2 that I currently have in my htc desire. last week I finally ended up ordering the sandisk 32gb class 4 micro sdhc card for £18 and its arrived today, was looking at class 6/10 cards but those are ~£30+.

now what's the best way to transfer the files from the 8gb card to the 32gb card? do I just copy/paste all the files/folders from the old card to the new card or do I need to first format the new card in the mobile?

This. Don't see what the issue is? Probably could have transferred them in less time than it would have taken to post this

you're prob right but just wanted to make sure

wasn't sure if there would have been any issues with the data for the apps or the apps that were moved to sd using the apps2sd function/app.

unless any one else has any other input I'll get the files/folders copied from the 8gb card to the 32gb card.
