Possible hard drive failure?
Edit: I've ran some more tests and the problem seems to be "Pending Sector Count" which is at 100. I've never dealt with hard drive problems before so is this something to watch out for?
Hey everyone,
I've started to experience problems with my current hard drive; Samsung HD501LJ (500 gigabyte). Here's what's been happening:
-Slower read speed
-Clicking noises when installing large files
-Failed Short and Long DST tests with the SeaGate HDD tool
I'm considering to replace it with these:
For OS and Games - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-060-OC&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=
For back-up and storage - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-206-SE&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=940
What would be the fastest way of moving the data onto the new hard drives? So far I've came up with 2 solutions:
1) I could use the Seagate and run it in RAID 1, copy data over and then move relevant files onto SSD
2) I could use Gigabytes express recovery tool to back up the OS, move it to the SSD and then copy the rest of the data onto Seagate.
Any suggestions?
