Best mic for gaming (NOT HEADSET)

Trying to Google a decent mic for gaming it just seems to bring up headsets... Furthermore I am looking for a mic whereby i don't have to put my mouth right infront of it.

I mean't to add i don't want a clip on one, i would like one that sits on desk, that doesnt pick up everything around me, just mic that can pick up voice a couple feet away from me.

Edit: Also preferably a mic that doesn't look fugly :D

It's only gonna be used for pc games/skype and i would also prefer it to have some sort of stand.

Theres a reason headsets exist :P The mic being in front of your mouth means it'll be able to pick up voice without picking up as much background noise.

Next best thing is a clipon mic but you also don't want one of those :p

Desktop mics can sound ok but they'll always pick up more background noise than the other types and I find they generally sound more tinny/echoish
 
I'd imagine the mic quality from a webcam will be worse than a desktop mic unless you fork out a fair amount :/
 
Actually never mind guys i've found an old logitech webcam that has a mic and is pretty decent enough audio, thanks anyways guys!

If it does break I will most probably go with your suggestion Sin, cheers!
