I've decided I like miniseries (not sure is there is a plural of that), no open-ended rubbish like Lost but longer and more involved than a film.

I've seen V (the original mini-series), The Last Train and Band of Brothers can't think of any others though so after some recommendations?

I Claudius
Hornblower
Day of the Triffids
Traffik
G.B.H.
Sharpe
Quatermass

This one is American, but it's still something of a gem: Five Days to Midnight

I too have seen The Last Train, and quite enjoyed it. Day of the Triffids is vaguely similar, though very different in many ways...and better.

For me, no doubt, Band of Brothers. Got the boxset for Christmas and I've already watched all ten episodes twice. You really start to relate to the characters as the series goes on.

The 4400 was originally meant to be a miniseries, and I could quite happily only every watch the first season. It's left a little open-ended, but that's easily forgiven since the second season is slightly insane.

Some great shows there. Some others:

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
Smiley's People
The Stand (Steven King)
IT (Once again Steven King)
Danger UXB (a bit old now but quite gripping)
From what I remember the Bangkok Hilton wasn't too bad.

Day Of The Triffids was on BBC 4 again not soo long ago, definately better than The Last Train. Kind of along the same sort of lines was Survivors, although this was not a mini-series it was still good.
