Best MMO style PS2 game?

Hello,

I've recently dug out my PS2, as I no longer have an xbox 360.

Just wondering really if theres any decent MMO style games for PS2 where you can gain gear and upgrade stuff as you go etc!

I don't really want anything anime style. I'd like to be able to perhaps choose what class I'd like to play also. I'd also like it to be quite a loot heavy game where I can customize my character quite a bit,

Can anyone suggest anything like this?

The easiest one that comes to mind for me is Final Fantasy XII, one of my most favourite games for the PS2.

It's like a combination of Final Fantasy XI and the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games.
 
The dot hack series is actually based in an MMO, and I found to be quite awesome. Very funky. Evergrace was an oldie on the PS2 which satisfies your criteria too.

When i read MMO style PS2 game in the title, first thing that popped into my head was .Hack. Definitely worth playing, I loved it
 
Pretty certain there was a baldurs gate game on the PS2, and another called "Champions of Norath" or something like that
