It is not great for 3d though if that is your thing. It is pretty good for 3d movies but 3d gaming is a bit of a letdown compared to 3d vision enabled screens like the benq xl2420t, but they require an Nvidia graphics card which you don't have.
Im not sure if you saying that TriDef is worse than 3d vision or the screen is just worse for 3d gaming all along so please correct me if im mistaken. Ive tried skyrim in 3d vision and Tridef and Tridef came out the winner by miles. Much more depth and not as flat nvidia 3d vision, same for diablo 3. This however was both done on the A950 so perhaps thats the reason for my experience.
The issue with the A950 is crosstalk in 3D. While pretty awwsome in 2D and the fact its looks beautiful on your desk i wouldn't pick one if your very serious about 3d gaming. Then again as fare as i've been able to read pretty much all the current 27" 120hz 3d monitors have some degree of crosstalk or ghosting as some put it(wrong).
I think 3d gaming while pretty cool at times should not list to high on the priority list when purchasing a new monitor because the tech needs some more maturing IMHO.
