Hey guys/gals. Looking at getting myself a 120hz 24" monitor and cant decide between the BENQ Xl2411T or the Acer GD245HQ will be using for 90% gaming so leaning towards ben but like the red on the acer. So my question is can someone push me towards one or the other or suggest a better all round alternative Thank you :)

Seems as if someone has done so :) Thank you. Can someone point out the main differences between the BenQ XL2411T and the XL2420T is one a newer model than the other or a different range?

Hi,

I'm also currently very tempted in investing in the BenQ XL2411T.

Doing a comparison on their site the only difference the XL2420T has against the XL2411T is: -

  • Response Time(Tr+Tf) typ.: 2ms (GtG)
  • Input Connector: D-sub / DVI-DL(Dual Link) / HDMI x 2 / DP 1.2 / Headphone Jack
  • USB Hub: Donwstreamx3; Upstreamx1
  • Dimensions(HxWxD mm): 516.9 x 571.4 x 149.9
  • Swivel (left/right): 35 / 35
  • Other Accessories: S Switch / Dust Cover

Personally I'm not sure if these warrant the extra £90, but I might be told/corrected otherwise.

Regards

The BenQ XL2420T is not worth the extra cash. Save and put that towards another upgrade.

The BenQ XL2411T is highly recommended. It is the latest model, it also has one of the best LightBoost mode capabilities.

Lightboost mode does require an Nvidia card, although I've now heard AMD cards might be able to.

Lightboost mode further reduces the motion blurr by up-to- 80%~

Check the above out for the facts.

Also the look and feel of the monitor is high build quality, the colours are perfectly fine, although be warned that if you decide to LightBoost enable, it does create a tint, but this only affects when not in a game, games seem to not be affected by this. However it may be different for you.

The BenQ does need the settings changed and a bit of twiddling, but once you have calibrated it to your liking, the monitors performance is outstanding, even without LightBoost.

It's perfectly capable of VESA mount and holds well.

The only thing the BenQ XL2420T does well, is the colours seem less affected when in Lightboost mode. But that is so negligible that it doesn't warrant buying over the XL2411T.

It's the middle one:

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply & comments.

I didn't think the extra money would be worth it & as you said, the difference could go towards something else.

Out of interest, what size is the Dell on the left of the picture?

Regards

Thank you so much for clearing that up for me excited to buy this now. I have a nvidia gtx 770 so the lightboost mode should be a useful feature then :)
