Best Motherboard to go with Piledriver 6300 processor

Cheers nkata for the post, lots of good information, this had made me sway more towards the AMD side, although Intel would probably more future proof than AMD, I think the AMD will suit my needs for a few years to come.

Cheers ussie too, yeah I think I'm going to head down the AMD route, just need to find the perfect Mobo, as there have been a few different recommended in the thread so far.

Anytime mate, I myself am a Intel and AMD user, so that's why i'd rather state my opinion and views on both then decide. Best way!

As far as a motherboard is concerned (again my opinion and im sure many others will agree). The Asus Sabertooth is absolutely BRILLIANT, it's more of a high end motherboard with great features and looks Asus Sabertooth.

But if you want the best of the best then it'd be asus crosshair v formula z (what I use and what many other people will go for if you want one of the best amd motherboards)

Again features are great, overclocking capabilities on both boards are really good. It just depends on you and your budget.

Just a note to point out if you are overclocking, buy an aftermarket heatsink, nothing too fancy but one you can fit one or two 120mm fans to. This will be quieter when gaming and cooler too.

Thanks again both, and thanks for the recommendations on motherboards, I'll take a look and see which is best and then set aside some money to purchase both together :D Can't wait to have a decent computer again.

i built an amd comp for a friend with the asrock extereme 4 990fx, its a nice board runs well when coupled with the 8gb of patriot ram and his ssd/storage the biggest hit will be your gpu but you must have a strong basis to build from so yes get a good mobo, cpu and just build bit by bit. are you going to crossfire or sli? if so how many this will be a big deciding factor in the board you choose

"Mostly gaming, with the occasional web browsing"
Is what he stated he would use it for so max would be 2 gpu's, anymore would honestly be pointless as he wants to stay within budget.

What scots says is correect though, definitely get a good mobo cpu psu so that its future-upgradable if neccessary.

I've only made two computer but I know allot about systems and one mistake I made with my last system is the psu at gs700W wheras I should've got 850w or more (modular) so I can crossfire or sli without any issues

Also froz have you chosen anything yet?

I have to agree with the motherboard and psu comments ... The motherboard I have is amazing and although expensive worth every penny, I also have an 850 watt psu and it seems to handle my gpu's just fine.
