Hi Folks,

What is the best mouse mat at the moment for FPS games? I will be using it with a MS 6000 mouse. I'm looking to spend around £10-£15 on it and ideally would like a hard plastic one.

Thanks

Matt

Just invested in an Everglide Titan Monster after using a Ratpadz for years and I find the Titan to be much more precise and love the huge size.

I don't get the steelpad 4D, in the description it says that the base is a seperate item? Does this mean I have to buy something seperate to use it or does it come with the base?

Edit: ignore, just seen the next line down "base included"

eXact mat.

Only decent alluminium mousemat i know of :) It's so smooth with my razer mouse, i can move my mouse with my breath because theres little friction :cool::o

I use a Func 1030 - love it to bits.

Ignore the "use you desk" crowd - they can't tell the difference because they have no skills in the first place :p

Seriously, its entirely down to personal preference just like with mice.
Some prefer to have a very smooth pad, some prefer a rough one, some prefer none at all.

Don't buy one on someone's recommendation without trying it first. Buy what you are most comfortable with using.

i use my crude/ glue covered desk, still do well. Can't really afford to waste money on something like a mouse mat at the mo :(

Whenever a mouse mat thread comes up, I'm sure that the majority of the responses overall (i.e. on CS related sites) is the Steelpad S&S.

I've got a S&S, and used this one for at least 3 years - even after the top surface 'wears' so there is less friction it is so very gradual that your playing style adapts to it, it doesn't get that dirty either and it is no way as cold as an Icemat would be.

I've tried the following mousemats and always came back to my S&S -

func 1030 -> S&S
S&S -> QPad
S&S -> Steelpad 5L (back to S&S)
S&S -> new S&S (back to old one which was nicely worn - new one felt so rough in comparison)
S&S -> Razer Pro 1.6 (white mousepad) --> back to old S&S

So I'd say get an S&S, although I'm tempted to try the new Steelpad SX at some point.

Agree with aftershxck - hard to see past the Steelpad S&S - the func is just a bit too small for me...

ps3ud0 :cool:
