Best mp4 converting software?

Hello all,

What is the best software to use to convert avi files to mp4 for iPad and apple tv?

I have used toast titanium but the files come out HUGE!! 1.2gb for 1 hours tv is just stupid.

Any help would be great!

Handbrake or if you don't mind paying iFlicks which will add cover art as well.

If your avi's are simply divx encoded, no need to convert them. Plenty of apps can software decode them.
