Hi all,

I bought a Alienware 14 from the Dell outlet which should be here at the end of next week. I currently have a 128GB Samsung 830 SSD but space is becoming an issue. Now the Alienware has a 80Gb msata SSD and a 1TB standard drive. Now I will probably keep the 1TB drive in there but get a new msata SSD.

Im looking around the 240/256GB mark dont really need more. The Crucial MX200 or the Samsung EVO 840 seem to be good but what do you all think?

Cheaper the better really but dont want something rubbish. I was thinking of swapping both out for a 240GB V300 Kingston drive but thought I might as well use the msata to make use of the 1TB drive too?

Depends why space is becoming an issue, if you only have a 80GB SSD then I can see the potential issue but for a lot of people the OS and the IO heavy programs go on the SSD and static data on the mechanical drive. I remember a friend telling me he needed a bigger SSD to store his media on, he didn't get it when I asked him if it played faster :D If you need something bigger then the longer you wait the better value you'll get.

cheapest per gb wins...you wont tell the difference....id steer clear of samsung 840 until they have fixed the speed issues...its more expensive anyway....
