Best Nokia Memory Card?

There are a lot of memory cards around at the moment for the various memory cards, and was wondering if anyone knows what the supposed "best" memory card is for them? I was thinking in terms of an N93, so only 1GB+ would do for me, but they dont look too expensive anymore.

if you mean the RSDVMMC cards then theres not a huge amount in it infact for a phone i dont think your gonna need blisteringly fast read or write speeds so any should do fine

There seem to be 3 premium ones that I would choose between:
Kingston, Sandisk or Sandisk Ultra 2.

Would would people choose, or what have people chosen for there phones?

Apparently, the Nokia N93 uses Mini SD cards.

I was finding it difficult to find 2Gb Mini SD cards for my Nokia 6233 when I was looking last week.

Ended up with a 1Gb Sandisk card for ~ £30.00.

To be honest I was quite surprised on how easy it was for me to get a 2gb card, I managed to find a Samdisk 2GB Mini SD Ultra 2 due to it having a higher transfer speed etc. It only came to £49.95 inclusive of shipping & VAT etc, that was the cheapest that I managed to find.

Starange thing is about the pricing is the diverse difference between all websites, by as much as £30 for pretty much the same thing. It should give me a lot of enjoyment as I know this phone will need a lot of space due to the high quality imaging.

I wish I had spotted a 2Gb card at your price.

As far as mobiles go, ive heard a lot of bad things with Sandisk memory cards not being compatible, i have on the other hand heard good things about Adata memory cards in phones.

I got myself an N80 (again one that was having problems with Sandisk cards) and trawled through threads on various forums searching for info, it appeared that the Adata cards have worked from the word go - so i went out and got a 1gb one for £20 delivered.

Worked as soon as i put it in (it's also a high speed one too)

I wouldn't blame SanDisk cards for not working in Nokia phones. I know of couple of Nokia memory cards that didn't work with Nokia phones. Nokias have always been a problem.

From what I understand, there are a couple of memory manufacuters out there, and everyone just rebrands stuff.

But I''d personally go for Sandisk stuff, I've never had an issue with them.

If you google it, 2GB MiniSD for £39.95.......

There is a "normal" Sandisk Mini SD for £34 to a site I cannot link to, but I personally wanted the Sandisk Ultra 2, which is basically a faster version of there normal memory, which warranted me paying that bit extra for ;)

Thanks for that. I am pretty certain they had no stock when I looked.

Bought a 2Gb and USB2 adapter for £39.99 - delivery was an extra £1.40. :)

Not feeling so :) now.

Card arrived this morning.

My Nokia 6233 takes Micro SD cards not Mini SD ones. :o

No wonder the price was so good.

You have to watch the certain sizes of cards that Nokia use, as they all seem to use a difference brand depending what you have, I have gone through about 4 difference versions myself and it can be hard to keep up.

Suppose its a way to make you spend more on there memory cards

I've found a 2gb mini SD for £17.99+3.95p+p but its unbranded and I'm not sure if its worth it as I too want to get it for a N93.

get a mini sd / trasflash from moby, i picked a 1gig one up for £20 off mm, got it today an works fine my 6233. so glad i have a phone i can put music on, my 8800's were drivin me up the wall, so much so that im floggin em instead of keeping them

The 2gig mini SD i bought for my N80 doesn't work properly - it'll be detected and i can format it but then it'll just disappear!?

I ended up paying for a nokia 1 gig card at some stupidly high price as i needed it asap :o

If nokia ever get the N80 onto their online phone software update page i shall try that and then see if the 2 gig card works!

I know what you mean, im also waiting for the N93 to appear there as I need the v11 firmware update as mine arrived with version 10 thats very buggy indeed, hoping v11 fixes all the freezing issues

That is why I would take it to a Nokia Service Centre, to make sure that it is done properly, as they should know what they are doing a lot more than I would. I just dont like it freezing at random times, which means removing the battery and back in to switch it back on.

I was hoping I would have a new firmware with my phone as it came on the 7th September, but as it doesnt its off to the service centre so that it has the latest version.

Never in the 6 years I have had phones have I ever felt the need to upgrade any of my phones firmwares, but with all these new phones around it was inevitable that this would be required.
