I have looked at some but cant work it out so any recomendations. I dont need it for directions just so I can read it in 2d and work out where to go next.

Can you get navfree for android? I have it on my iPhone and it downloads the map so it doesn't require data/GPS. Good sat nav. I'm planning on issuing it in France this coming week as my tomtom is a bag of...

Map factors Navigator Free might be worth a look in, it's not the best map application I've ever come across but for a free app it's pretty decent.

Yes! and it's a very good 'Off Line' Navigation Program!, with the Bonus of being 100% FREE even for Every Map they do (Storage space dependant) meaning if you're a world traveller, but don't want to spend on unnecessary extras, just install Navfree and grab the Map for any/Every country!! :D

Like Navfree i have one called mapfactor gps nagivation. Not really had much case to use it but seems to work ok, i've just downloaded various country maps, they get updated aswell.

Read fail someone already mentioned it :)

Yeah I've got navfree too and it's very good for those times when I can't get a data signal for google maps (too often around here).

Having said that, god damn is it ugly, it's like they couldn't be bothered styling to suit android and just copy/pasted the pre iOS 7 style.... does my head in as a designer, even more so when you consider the percentage of android devices now....

Be good if they went how power amp have done it. Let the community design their own skins and get them on the playstore.

City maps to go is awesome mate, the free version you only get 3 city maps to download, for more you need the full version. What phone do you have ?

Is there a decent navigation app which gives you satellite images other than Google Maps? I hate how Maps auto zooms, and the customisation is abysmal.

The way to get more free maps is to search for "Ulmon" at GP.
Download all the free city maps that are available.
Then when you look in the menu of one of the maps, it will say you can DL another 20+ maps free of charge, instead of the usual number you start off with.
It worked for me :)
