Best online fps shooter for PC currently?

What do people think is the best online FPS at the moment? I've not really dabbled since battlefield bad company 2 which was uttertly epic... a COD game? there's quite a confusing number of COD games to choose from, and the recent battlefiled games seem to have a bit of a bad rep?

PUBG but it's got a declining and hardcore player base, basically filled with people who play it all the time and getting into it as a new player is hard.

To the OP if you're looking for a battlefield type game that's more on the "team tactical shooter" side of things then this is the correct answer for the thread .

Don't bother with BF2042, it's baws. As for CoD... play warzone I guess if you like BR games and have a couple of pals to play with?

Increasingly I find newer FPS games just aren't developed by the right people for the right reasons. The older ones are still the best sadly but don't always have an active player base any more.
