Hi guys,

I'm pretty close to getting all the parts together to build myself a new new system, only got the Mobo and Ram left to get, cpu (6700K) is en-route, and already got the drives and cooler ready to go.

Price wise, a Quad Channel kit seems the best way to go, at least for 32GB, i'm just wondering if any of you guys have any preferences.

My cooler is a Noctua NH-D15, so it's got up to 6.4cm clearance in single fan mode, and 3.2cm in dual fan mode, according to the box, so i was thinking of some low profile memory.

Iv'e decided to go with an Asus 170-A, just waiting for the cpu to arrive before i order the board and RAM for OCuk.

I thought about getting the Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 4*8GB kit, but i want to know what you guys think, i'm not too bothered about OCing the Ram, so no crazy high frequencies, maybe 2400 at least, i've read else where that the 2666 kit has issues reaching that speed.

Skylake CPU performance greatly benefits from faster speed DDR4.

I'd get 3000Mhz kit at the minimum, since it's only a litttle more expensive than the rest.

I went for a 16GB Corsair LPX 3000Mhz kit, booted up at 3000Mhz via XMP really easily, and has great performance to boot.

Using 2400Mhz DDR4 on Skylake is a waste IMO.

What about 2600-2800?

I've been looking at the Quad channel kits, as they're cheaper, but, would i run into issues using quad channel ram on a dual channel board?
