What is your best ever overclocking CPU;

CPU: AMD 3700+ 2.ghz 1.5v
FAN: 45 load 64 pro freezer

In my opinion and from what i have read the 3700+ is one of the best clockers on the market.

What has been your results with your chips?

1700+ DL3TC - did 2.5Ghz on air stable 24/7

2.4c ran at 3.6Ghz 300fsb 24/7 stable - water

Now got a 660 at 4 which pretty much sucks.

XP1700 DLT3C XPMW 0308, hit 2800mhz on it but i couldn't cool it back then, something like a 95% overclock :)

Opteron 146 CABNE 0530APMW

3.3Ghz - Fully Prime stable
3.4Ghz - 3dmark, 32m pi

Batch #0055, truly was a golden chip.

i aint had any 'amazing' overclocks because i have only ever had air cooling....... but, two stand out the most to me.

2.8 p4c was stable at 3.7ghz (ON AIR) at a smidge over 1.6v and could bench over 3.8 and it was only a lowly D1 stepping (eat that M0 owners :) )

my dothan wasnt too bad either used to gave all the amd boys some stick :p :p 1.73 stock, 2.8ghz was easy and could bench it at almost 3ghz, i had a 25s pi a year ago :) (which was then reduced by 1s in the winter ahhhh cold air)

sadly the 2.8 is in retirement ( :D ) stock in my gf shuttle and the dothan was flogged when i went over to a **cough amd cough ** shuttle

The original 'A' northwoods, the 1.6A being particularly good and a 50% overclock being par for the course. :)

1.6a Northwood @ 3.0ghz on air (Gibbo will remember that chip and awesome RAM)

P3-600E @ 920 mhz on air

Axia T Bird Y 1.0ghz @ 1490mhz on air

Those are my fav 3 I remember

I'm personally loving the X2 3800s.. had my first on phase benchable at 3.2ghz so about 60% oc, the one I have now is benchable on water with a rubbish mobo at 3ghz, straight 50%.

My favourites in recent years

AXIA 1GHz @ 1.8Ghz 1.85v on air, Alpha PAL 8045 KT7A
Palomino 1800+ @ 2GHz 1.85V
Tbred A 2200+ @ 2.1Ghz
Tbred 1700+ DL3TC @ 2.53Ghz 1.775v
Tbred 2400+ @ 2.4GHz 1.675v
Thornton 2000+ @ 2.2Ghz 1.7v
Barton 2500+ Mobile @ 2.6Ghz 1.725v
Opteron 144 @ 2.7GHz Stock volts
Opteron 165 @ 2.5Ghz Stock volts

PIV 1.6A @ 2.8Ghz 1.6v
PIV 2.2 @ 3Ghz Stock volts
PIV 2.8 533 @ 3.8Ghz Stock volts
Pentium M 1.73Ghz Dothan on CT479 P4P800 E @ 2.6Ghz 200FSB Stock volts

depends on how you define 'best' I guess :) can't remember all my CPUs but:

486 DX2-66 o/c to DX4-100
P75 @ p100
p133 @ p166
pentium MMX
AMD - can't remember :(
intel celeron 266 @ 350 on a slotket :)
AMD Athlon SlotA not sure of overclock but had one of those jumper boards on it :)
AMD Athlon AXIA 1Ghz @ 1.5Ghz on air cooling
Pentium4 1.6a @ 2.4Ghz on air cooling
Pentium4 2.8c @ 3.5Ghz on air cooling 1.45 VCore(default volts) (will do more, held back by RAM) over 2years stable and still going strong

my dissapointing work pc (so much slower than my 2yr old P4) - Athlon64 3000+ 2.25Ghz @ 1.5VCore

next chip, hopefully soon will be a conroe E6600 :) pos on water.

Wow yea memories! had a goldfinger too, my 650 had a 750 core and ran 850 at 1.85v :) Talking about slotkets, have a 1.1Ghz Tualatin at 1.46Ghz stock volts on an old BX440 board somewhere :D My Celeron 300A did 470MHz off the bat, prolly average for that cpu.

3200 winchester @ 3ghz
3000 venice @ 3.4ghz (now that was a nice chip)
3700 @ 3.2ghz
opty 146 @ 3.2ghz
numerous 3800's dual cores @ 3ghz - 3.3ghz
latest (and greatest) 3700 @ anything upto 3.5ghz ;), hopefully 3.6.

!

I've never been all that lucky with decent clocking chips.

My XP2100+ ran happily @ 2.4ghz (with a Q-Tec psu no less!) Could probably do better with it if I paired it with my current water cooling setup and a decent psu.

My current 3700+ Claw runs at 2.85ghz, which is fairly decent, but still only 450mhz over the stock speed.

My previous 3400+ managed a staggering 200mhz over stock speeds!
