best PCI-E 1x device?

can you recomend me a PCI-E device, for my empty pci-e 1x slot.

are there any sound cards (decent ones) or tv tuners (that have video-in) that use this slot?

or any other wacky things?

I remember seeing a product from the Computex 2007 coverage. It was some kind of Intel product that fit in the small PCI-E (was either 1x or 4x) and basically it was meant to massively reduce hard drive loading and/or lag. I just can't remember the name of the product, and they probably aren't out yet.

i dont go to lan parties, and havent ever lanned up with someone, so if its got anythign to do with that, count me out :p
