Evening all

I have a budget of 2k what is the best current build/setup i could get from OCuk within this- no monitor or accessories required purely the pc i would like to game at 4k also if possible.

Whoever chooses the build i pick will be sent a steam code for any game of their choice so there is some incentive for the best advice.

i also would prefer an Nvidia card and its all about gaming performance i don't do much else on my pcs.

cheers guys

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,843.97 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Something a bit different, I haven't added a case as that's down to personal choice but there's lots to choose from for around £50.

I have added 2 water coolers depending if the case you choose can house a 280mm rad or just a standard 240mm rad, So either £140 or £90 can be taken off the total shown. You could stick to air with a Cryorig as suggested above and that will save something like £170-£180 off the total shown.

Went with a 2080 instead of the TI as almost twice the price for not much more power is crazy.

Also went with a 2700x instead of intel as it gives you the option to upgrade to ryzen 3 should it perform well which will be a cheap upgrade path. Should also add that at 4k there is hardly any difference in fps against the 9700k

rtx 2080ti vs 2080 at 4k- there is a big difference.
Cuda cores , 1300 increase compared to 2080 over rtx 2070 being 700 odd
RT cores and Texture Units, 20 more . again increase from 2070 to 2080 is little
ROP is over 20 increase and the Bit bus is a big increase.

technically the 2080 looks aweful compared to the 2070.

though the monies involved is hard to swallow

also, no point going from ryzen 2700x to ryzen 3000- you wait and jump to the ryzen 4000 series which like the 2000 over 1000 will be better optimised etc , cheaper to pick up ryzen 1700 and overclock 4ghz all cores and then buy ryzen 3000 saving £150 to put to wards it

For the cost imo there isn't much difference. Your paying nearly 100% more for probably 20% more performance on average.

The performance and pricing of the 3 cards meant I went for the 2070 for £450 as it's a no brainer for how much I game and I also play at 4k.

He never stated if he wanted to overclock so got the best he could do without it. If he wants to overclock then yes a lower chip would suffice.

its not dropping under 60fps with 4k, were 2080ti stretches its wings, or pushing 165hz 1440p monitors to their max.
personally always go by min frame rates, not been keen on max . you spend more time between min and average frame rate and 2080ti is key to 4k gaming. first true 4k card . but as you say, the cost is insane!!!!!!!!

its almost as if nvidia used vendors and retailers having more stock as an excuses to push prices rather then offer them rebates to push prices down and in turn Turing cards offered at lower price :(
