best performer

Hi Guys
I am building a cheap pc for my friend based around this mobo
Gigabyte K8N51GMF-9 nForce 6100
It will be used for the web, ms office and music downloading and burning.
To keep in budget which is £300, which combo would give the best performance?
AMD Athlon 64 3200 + OcUK Value 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200
OR
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice + OcUK Value 512MB PC3200

Would go for the extra memory myself. Might be worth seeing if you can badger a budget increase to the X2 3800+ though, £100 is very tempting.

if the machine is just used for general surfing and cd burning and downloads, i dont think it will be neccisaery to get a dual core, unless he goes into photoshop or the like - i doubt he would notice the difference

i would try and dtrecth the extra and get the 3700, should be a bit faster than the 3200, i take it no overclockng is going to be done?

I can oc but im not sure if this mobo will oc very far.
will 1 gig be a lot better than 512?

i doubt u are going to see much difference if the pc is only going to be used for web browsing/email etc
